East Ida Immanuel Lutheran Church is a community of believers gathered around Jesus Christ, our Immanuel, who comes to us in His Word and Sacraments. East Ida was Established in 1849, Immanuel Lutheran Church and is a member of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod.
We are a small, friendly, family-oriented church, welcoming all age groups to come grow more deeply in their relationship with Jesus Christ. Our hope is to show the love of Christ in our community and the world.

Rev. Bruce Lucas
Pastor Bruce Lucas completed his undergraduate studies at Concordia Teacher's College in River Forest, IL, with a major in music education. He received a Master of Music degree from Michigan State University in 1987 and completed his Orff Schulwerk certification at DePaul University in 1989. Having served as a parochial school teacher for 13 years, he entered Concordia Theological Seminary in Ft. Wayne, IN, where he received a Master of Divinity degree in 1995 and worked toward a Master of Sacred Theology degree the next year. On May 26, 1996, he was ordained and installed as pastor of East Ida Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Dcs. Sara Bielby
Deaconess Sara completed her deaconess studies at Concordia Theological Seminary and Concordia University Chicago. She received a Master of Arts in Theology from Concordia Theological Seminary in 2004, and was commissioned as a deaconess in October 2006. Her specialization is in counseling and in college student ministry. Here at East Ida Immanuel, Deaconess Sara teaches women's Bible study, high school Sunday school, and junior high catechism. She leads a discussion group for college-age students, organizes family fellowship opportunities, makes hospital and shut-in visitations, and performs other ministry duties.
Board of Elders
Ladies Aid meets on the second Tuesday of the month at 7:00pm in the Fellowship Hall. Please see our church calendar for more information about meeting times.
Lutheran Women's Missionary League:
LWML: The mission of the LWML is share the love of Christ through bible study, prayer groups, devotions and saving mites for district and national mission projects. We are a member of the Monroe Zone, which holds zone rallies to develop Christian fellowship and mission involvement with all the ladies of our community.
If you have a filled mite box, please deposit it in the large LWML box in the church narthex.
LWML meetings are held at the beginning of Laiding Aid meetings during March, May, September and October.
Mrs. Brenda Palmiter leads our adult choir which practices Wednesday evening at 7:15pm in the church balcony.
Led by Mrs. Krista Lucas, handbell practice meets Wednesday evening at 8:10pm in the church balcony.

High school youth events are printed in the bulletin and often posted on their facebook page.

Vacation Bible School (Summer)
Each year we hold Vacation Bible School (VBS) during the summer for children in Kindergarten up to 8th grade. VBS uses story-telling, crafts, and activities to teach our children more about Jesus and saving grace.
